The Journey to Mars will be the journey of a lifetime. And, it's happening in your lifetime.
In 2018, the Michaelis Foundation embarked on a historic collaboration to create an innovative space-STEM education program for children between the ages of 7 to 15 year old.
The program was to be a series of hands-on experiential activities that brought space exploration alive for the young children, enabling them to experience space exploration in the only way they can – through learning.
The Foundation delivered the program for more than 650 children.
THE JOURNEY TO MARS
SpaceX aspirational goal is to send its first cargo mission to Mars in 2028. The objectives for the first mission will be to confirm water resources, identify hazards, and put in place initial power, mining, and life support infrastructure. A second mission, with both cargo and crew, is targeted for 2030, with primary objectives of building a propellant depot and preparing for future crew flights. The ships from these initial missions will also serve as the beginnings of the first Mars base, from which we can build a thriving city and eventually a self-sustaining civilization on Mars (credit: SpaceX).
Space Camp Journey To Mars is affiliated with the Michaelis Foundation a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational foundation offering extensive science education programs. The cornerstone of its education mission is Science Days, a leading global science and space exploration mobile learning experience.
• Space Camp Journey To Mars is presented in collaboration with the Michaelis Foundation for Global Education and 321Go.Space.
• Space Camp Journey To Mars is a 2 and 4- Day entry level experience that provides kids (Future Space Explorers) ages 7-14 with the opportunity to learn about the amazing Journey to Mars.
Thanks to our sponsors, Space Camp Journey To Mars is free of charge for all children ages 7-15 years old.
